Family Collections part 3

Family collections

‘Family Collections continued’

I am exploring the concept of ‘the archive’. Previously, I was capturing domestic objects on display, in their original setting and not changing or altering their environment. Now, in these photographs, I have photographed various objects that were hidden away in cardboard boxes and forgotten about. It was not until they were discovered again that their stories were revealed.

I have photographed them individually, from above, against a black background using an archival or museological method. Unlike a museum or archive, my photographs document each object, but give the viewer very little information about them.
